About Andrew Orme

I am a native English tutor from the UK with over 25 years of teaching experience, including more than two decades living and working in Hong Kong.

Before becoming a full-time tutor, I worked for five years in COSCO Shipping and EDIasia. I helped colleagues with spoken English, business writing, emails, and company brochures. This gave me a strong understanding of how English is used in real Hong Kong workplaces.

For 20 years, I worked as a freelance tutor and also taught at the Word Power English Learning Centre. Classes were kept small, allowing individual attention and clear correction.

My wife is from Hong Kong, and both my children attended local Hong Kong schools from kindergarten to secondary level. They are bilingual in Cantonese and English. Because of this, I understand the homework load, exam pressure, and interview culture faced by students and parents.

I now live in the UK, and all lessons are taught online. Photos on this site are from my former Hong Kong teaching room and help show the calm, structured environment I provide.
